Obama apologizes to Europe for America

Dear Mr. Obama,

It is absolutely pathetic that a president of the United States feels the need to disparage America while in foreign countries, and to make apologies for America.

America leads, America succeeds, and America is willing to take a stand.

It's DISGRACEFUL for you to show your disdain for the American dream by apologizing to European countries and Turkey.

I'm proud to be an American, and unlike your wife, I've ALWAYS been proud to be an American.

I DON'T apologize!

You should be ASHAMED of your "apology tour".

Immigration increases the US unemployment rate

Dear Representative Neugebauer,
I am sure you were as appalled as I was when you saw the unemployment figures for March. It is truly demoralizing that so many Americans are unemployed. Given that so many Americans are out of work, don't you think Congress should reexamine America's excessive immigration policies?

The United States admits 138,000 foreign workers each month. The vast majority of these foreign workers do not possess extraordinary talents or skills. Americans would gladly work the jobs filled by foreign workers if given the opportunity.

While 13.2 million Americans sit unemployed, 7.7 million illegal alien workers have jobs to which they are not entitled. I find it appalling that Congress has allowed this injustice to occur. If our nation's immigration laws were enforced, then America would have millions fewer unemployed workers.

I urge you to right this tremendous wrong by working to reform America's ineffective and wasteful immigration system. Please work to halt most forms of immigration so that unemployed Americans have a decent chance of finding a job.

Revoke Carter's Passport

Former President Jimmy Carter recently met with the terrorist organization Hamas despite requests from the Bush administration not to interfere in Middle East peace negotiations.

Carter hugged a leading Hamas official at a reception and laid a wreath at the tomb of Yassar Arafat, a known terrorist and murderer. Jimmy Carter is now the world's biggest tool for Hamas’ jihad propaganda.

Carter even proclaimed that Hamas terrorists were willing to accept Israel as a "neighbor next door," even though Hamas publicly calls for the destruction of the Jewish state. Article 13 of the Hamas charter is as clear as day: "There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors."

Conservatives have mobilized to protest Carter's terrorist shilling.

GOP Rep. Sue Myrick, R-N.C. called on Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to revoke former President Jimmy Carter’s passport. Rep. Joe Knollenberg has introduced the CARTER Act (Coordinated American Response to Extreme Radicals Act) which would prohibit any taxpayer dollars from being directed to the Carter Center, his Georgia-based scholarly institution.

Carter should be ashamed for aiding and abetting the terrorist enemies, and undermining official US policy against negotiating with terrorists.

No Compromise on Amnesty

There Can Be NO COMPROMISE When It Comes To Amnesty for 12-20 Million Illegal Aliens

I understand that Members of the Senate have negotiated a so-called "compromise immigration bill" that, if passed will grant amnesty to 12-20 million illegal aliens currently in the United States.

Let me be very clear: this "compromise immigration bill" is nothing more than amnesty.

• I don’t want amnesty for 12-20 million illegal aliens currently in the United States.
• I don’t want compromise legislation.
• I don’t want a comprehensive package that allows 12-20 lawbreakers to keep on breaking the law.
• I don’t want foreigners coming into America unless they go through proper immigration channels.
• I don’t want a "guest worker program".
• I don’t want a "pathway to citizenship".

These are nothing more than amnesty phrases, and I oppose amnesty for the millions of people who have sneaked into our country illegally. Giving amnesty to people who have broken American laws increases the likelihood of further illegal conduct. This so-called compromise amnesty bill will do nothing but encourage more people to cross our nation’s borders illegally.
I understand that the spin doctors are already at work trying to convince the American people that this isn’t an amnesty bill. But the American people know better. We are not going to be fooled.

Amnesty was a bad idea in 1986.
Amnesty was a bad idea last year.
Amnesty is still a bad idea.

Former Sen. Fred Thompson is right when he said, "With this bill, the American people are going to think they are being sold the same bill of goods as before on border security. We should scrap this bill and the whole debate until we can convince the American people that we have secured the borders or at least have made great headway."

The bill should be broken up into pieces with each piece given a fair hearing. We need to secure our borders first, with a separate, tough bill that produces results. Then follow that with visa reform. A separate bill can address employer enforcement.

Throwing everything into one bill, and calling it comprehensive reform is the wrong approach.

The American people want secure borders and no amnesty for millions of illegal aliens. The American people want to stop terrorists, who wish to bomb military installations, from coming into this country illegally!

After all these months, why is it that only two miles of the promised 700-mile border fence have been built? I believe the American people want that border fence built today!

No Amnesty

Dear Editor,
The U.S. Senate in Washington D.C. needs a big dose of good ole common horse sense. The Senate Immigration / Amnesty Bill is purely and simply a BAD bill.

Accepting amnesty in this bill as a trade off for bringing FUTURE illegal immigration under control is a major fallacy. The bill makes NO promises of lower illegal immigration and sets no numerical reduction goals at all. We’ve seen in the past that giving amnesty has not stemmed the tide of illegal immigration, and amnesty now will not reduce illegal immigration in the future.

The "touch back" provisions that require the illegal aliens to leave the country briefly are meaningless. These touch-back provisions have nothing to do with slowing down illegal immigration in the future. In fact the touch-back provisions try to fool voters into thinking that the illegal aliens would be allowed to live here permanently in a process no different from anybody else. But it won’t work that way. The permanent residence they would be given would be possible only because they BROKE THE LAW IN THE FIRST PLACE. Giving amnesty to people who have broken American laws increases the likelihood of further illegal conduct.

Amnesty was a bad idea in 1986.
Amnesty was a bad idea last year.
Amnesty is still a bad idea.

We need to remember that Ted Kennedy has already pushed SEVEN amnesties into law. Not a single one was followed by a reduction in illegal immigration. Why should anybody believe this one will be?

1. In 1986, Ted Kennedy's blanket amnesty for 2.7 million illegal aliens promised a lot more enforcement but did not set any requirements for actual reductions in illegal immigration. The illegal flow continued.

2. In 1994, Ted Kennedy's Section 245(I) Amnesty gave legal residence and jobs to 578,000 illegal aliens. It was a temporary rolling amnesty primarily for extended family members of immigrants who instead of waiting in line, would come on into the country illegally. The illegal flow continued.

3. In 1997, Ted Kennedy's extension of the Section 245(I) rolling amnesty was followed by an Increasing Flow of Illegal Immigration.

4. In 1997, Ted Kennedy also won an amnesty for close to one million illegal aliens from Central America. Illegal immigration sped up some more.

5. In 1998, Ted Kennedy won an amnesty for 125,000 illegal aliens from Haiti. The illegal flow continued.

6. In 2000, Ted Kennedy got the so-called Late Amnesty, legalizing another 400,000 illegal aliens who claimed that they missed out on Kennedy's 1986 amnesty. Illegal immigration continued unimpeded.

7. In 2000, Ted Kennedy also won the LIFE Act Amnesty for an estimated 900,000 illegal aliens. It was another reinstatement of the rolling Section 245(I) amnesty., an estimated 900,000 illegal aliens. Illegal Immigration Accelerated.

Now, Ted Kennedy is saying that this amnesty is necessary if we are ever to stop the flow of illegal aliens. Considering the above track record, there is just no way we can believe him when he says this amnesty bill will end illegal immigration.

The Senate Immigration bill should be broken up into pieces with each piece given a fair hearing.

We Need to Secure Our Borders First, with a separate, tough bill that produces results. (After all these months, why is it that only two miles of the promised 700-mile border fence have been built?)

We can follow border security with visa reform.

A separate bill can address employer enforcement.

We need to ENFORCE our current immigration laws before we grant blanket amnesty.

It just makes good ole common horse sense to hold off on legalizing 12-20 million illegal immigrants until funding and enforcement efforts HAVE ACTUALLY RESULTED IN substantial reductions of the illegal population.

It’s time for America to fix the problems of illegal aliens pouring into our country.

With half of the suspects in the plot to attack GIs at Fort Dix in New Jersey found to be illegal aliens, now is the perfect time for Congress and the President to see that our current lack of enforcement of our existing immigration laws is a national security risk. America MUST fix the problems of illegal aliens pouring into the country before one of the "plots" becomes the next "tragedy."

The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is right when it called the arrests "strong proof that lax enforcement of our immigration laws does pose a severe threat to the security of the nation, and that the government’s screening process for granting green cards and other immigration benefits is perilously flawed."

Now is the perfect time for action. Despite case after case of illegal aliens perpetrating crimes, including terrorism plots, there are way too many politicians in DC who just don’t get it.

I want a bill that will concentrate on enforcement of current immigration law as well as border security.

I don’t want foreigners coming into America unless they go through proper immigration channels.

I don’t want a "guest worker program".
I don’t want a "pathway to citizenship".

These are nothing more than amnesty phrases, and I oppose amnesty for the millions of people who have sneaked into our country illegally.

We can’t just disregard the intentional violation of the law in one context because it serves policy objectives in another, as this would undermine the rule of law.

Illegal immigration is a national security issue.

We can’t play politics when the lives of Americans are at stake.
