100 Days...Do You Feel Safer?

100 Days...Do You Feel Safer?

Did the world suddenly become safer on Jan. 20, 2009?

Two days after taking office, President Obama announced that the terrorist detention center at Guantanamo Bay would be closed within one year. This is a national security policy that endangers the entire nation.

When this center is closed, just where does the President plan to put all these terrorists?

Who in the Abilene area is willing to "accept" a terrorist from Guantanamo Bay? It’s the ole "Not in MY back yard...!" concept.

Over the last 100 days, it has become clear that the administration has no comprehensive plan to confront the threat from radical jihadists.

A bill in the US House of Representatives is attempting to block the President’s decision to close the terrorist detention facility at Guantanamo Bay by blocking any Guantanamo prisoners from reaching U.S. soil.

This bill would require that governors and state legislatures PRE-APPROVE the transfer or release of any terrorist detainee into their respective states, and it would mandate that the administration meet strict criteria and certification standards before terrorists housed at the Guantanamo prison could be brought to the United States.

This makes perfect sense to me. These terrorists are some of the most deadly terrorists in the world, and these radical jihadists are committed to killing Americans and destroying our way of life.

The president’s decision to close Guantanamo was made to fulfill a campaign promise.

In a hundred days, President Obama has dramatically changed the direction in dealing with the radical jihadist threat.

Do you feel safer?
